This clamp is designed to meet the exacting requirements of the ASME VIII pressure vessel design code division 1, as given in Appendix 24. With a double bolt configuration at one lug side plus hinge plate and bolt at the other, the requirements of offering a secondary restraint in the eventuality of primary bolt failure is satisfied. All ASME VIII Clamps are supplied with complete 316 stainless steel component material certification, as required by ASME VIII Pressure Vessel Design. Published pressure ratings were calculated using the theoretical equations and exacting requirements given in the Pressure Vessel Code, a copy of ACL’s working equations can be supplied upon request.
